Back Pain Treatment
Back pain is a common problem which effects 4 out of 5 people at some point. It is often caused by a simple muscle, tendon or ligament strain and is not usually a serious issue. Approximately 90% of patients will feel relief from lower back pain within three months, regardless of the treatment. Though for many the idea of suffering back pain is not a desirable option to put up with for weeks or months.
However, for the remaining 10%, back pain can be a painful and debilitating ailment. Whilst most cases of acute back pain are caused by muscle strains which a good blood supply bringing nutrients and proteins will heal, long term pain can signify a more serious problem.
In younger adults there are several common causes of prolonged lower back and leg pain, these include:
- Lumbar disc herniation
- Degenerative disc disease
- Isthmic spondylolisthesis
In older adults (over 60 years old), the source of back pain or leg pain is more likely to be the facet joints or osteoarthritis, and back conditions may include:
- Facet joint osteoarthritis
- Degenerative spondylolisthesis
My therapy treats back/spinal issues by addressing the root of the problem, removing the pain and allowing normality to be restored. The treatments involve no manipulation, are suitable for all ages, and can be carried out through light clothing if preferred by the client.
Clients generally notice a significant difference after their first treatment. It is not unusual for clients to be completely free of their problem after only two visits.

Patient Testimonials
“Quite often if you go to see someone about your back, they only look at your back, but Brendan checks you from head to toe, finding any issues that could potentially be the main cause. After 1 session with Brendan I managed to achieve things I hadn’t done in years.”
