Achilles/Ankle Injuries Treatment

The “Achilles” is a tendon which connects the heel bone of your foot to your calf muscle, it allows you to rise up on your toes and push up when you walk or run. The Achilles tendon can, however, be easily injured normally resulting in one of two conditions.

Tendinosis – this results from tiny tears in the tissue around the tendon and is a more common form of tendon injury.

Tendinitis – ‘inflammation of the tendon’ is a rarer form of tendinopathy, it usually occurs after a larger-scale acute injury which causes of inflammation.

Tendinopathy has a number of different causes including:

  • Overuse
  • Not stretching before exercise
  • Wearing high heels
  • Problems with feet – fallen arches/flat feet
  • Tightness of muscles/tendons in leg
  • Injury – causing inflammation

My therapy treats ankle injuries by addressing the root of the problem, removing the pain and allowing normality to be restored. The treatments involve no manipulation, are suitable for all ages, and can be carried out through light clothing if preferred by the client.

Clients generally notice a significant difference after their first treatment. It is not unusual for clients to be completely free of their problem after only two visits.
