Sciatica Treatment
Sciatica is pain caused by irritation or pressure to the sciatic nerve which runs from the lower back and down each leg. The pain caused ranges from mildly uncomfortable to excruciatingly painful. Symptoms of sciatica are nearly always felt in the legs and include ‘pins and needles’ sensation, numbness and in more severe cases causing actual weakness affecting the ankles or toes.
The cause of sciatica usually alters where the pain is felt, the most common cause is a slipped (herniated) disk, in these cases the leg sciatic pain is usually accompanied by back pain.
Less common causes include:
- Piriformis Muscle Syndrome- causing buttock muscle spasms which trap the sciatic nerve it causes pain felt throughout the entirety of the sciatic nerve area.
- Spinal Stenosis– an abnormal narrowing of the nerve passages in the spine
- Degenerative disk disease- a natural process occurring in older people caused by the degeneration of disks in the lower back
I treat the effects of sciatica and a variety of other issues by identifying the root cause of the problem, removing the pain and allowing normality to be restored. The treatments involve no manipulation, are suitable for all ages, and can be carried out through light clothing if preferred by the client.
Clients generally notice a significant difference after their first treatment. It is not unusual for clients to be completely free of their problem after only two visits.

Patient Testimonials
“Quite often if you go to see someone about your back, they only look at your back, but Brendan checks you from head to toe, finding any issues that could potentially be the main cause. After 1 session with Brendan I managed to achieve things I hadn’t done in years.”
